In a significant move towards fostering diversity in the public service, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has initiated the Ethnic and Diversity Audit of the County Public Service for 2023. Recognising the importance of diversity, the commission underscores the need for County governments to strengthen relevant legislation to ensure inclusivity.
Various stakeholders, including County governments, partners, and state agencies, attended the report's launch. Isiolo County Government was represented by Mr. Mohamed Abdullahi, the CEO of the County Public Service Board. Abdullahi highlighted the board's consistent efforts to enhance diversity in Isiolo's public service over the years.
The Board commits to incorporating all communities in Isiolo into the public service, aligning with legislation promoting inclusivity and diversity. The CEO emphasized Governor Abdi Ibrahim's dedication to increasing compliance with laws governing diversity and inclusivity. He identified diversity as a crucial pillar in Governor Ibrahim's administration vision, affirming the board's commitment to enhancing inclusivity while ensuring adherence to competence and qualification standards.
Abdullahi emphasised that the board, with Governor Ibrahim's support, would actively monitor the implementation of diversity and inclusivity in the public service. This will be achieved through collaborative efforts with stakeholders and partners."
